Coffee Packaging Associate Team Leader (Assistant Department Manager)

As the ATL, you will be responsible for all general production workers and will work with Plant Operations Manager and coordinate with other Machine Operators to assign duties to production team in order to meet daily production demands. Focus will also be working closely with Roasting Manager to schedule daily production runs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for packaging coffee.
  • Set up equipment for production (load roll stock, valves, weigh scale, warm up, labeler, tape, etc.) and make minor, reasonable adjustments on machines.
  • Assist with the mechanical changeovers of equipment.
  • Check weights and record results.
  • Conducts oxygen analyzer test when needed.
  • Keep all related equipment and work area sanitary/clean.
  • Perform all other duties as required by plant operations manager.
  • Assist Plant Operation Manager in the scheduling, supervising, evaluation and motivation of general production Team Members.
  • Acting Team Leader in the absence of the Plant Operations Manager with the assistance and guidance of the Director of plant operations.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products, packaging requirements and schedules within the production area
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in leading or motivating work groups or teams
  • Excellent math skills and experience with computer a must
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position such as standing and walking, bending and stooping daily in addition to the ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout work day
  • Must demonstrate flexibility to meet quickly changing production schedules and job assignments that may involve extended or overtime hours
  • Ability to work well with others in a team oriented environment

Desired Work Experiences

  • Leadership Experience (2 year minimum)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Scheduling experience

The wage range for this position is $26.78-$47.58 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
