Principal Business Analyst

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for spearheading complex analytical initiatives that drive enterprise-wide transformation and strategic decision-making. This role partners directly with senior leadership to identify, develop, and implement critical business solutions while fostering innovation in data management and financial practices, with a strong focus on data architecture and data engineering solutions. This role requires a proven track record of translating complex business challenges into actionable insights, leading transformational initiatives at an enterprise level, and deep expertise in data engineering and AWS technologies.Note: Position available in Austin, TX and currently on a 5-day in office model. Relocation assistance available.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead high-impact analytical projects and deliver data-driven insights that shape organizational strategy and business outcomes
  • Deliver comprehensive and proactive support across Finance Operations, Accounting, Tax and Indirect Procurement teams
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, milestone tracking, and performance metrics
  • Design innovative business analysis frameworks to uncover market trends and drive process optimization
  • Build and maintain data lakes and warehouses using AWS technologies while establishing governance frameworks, particularly QuickSight, Andes and Redshift
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to integrate multiple data source systems while ensuring data quality
  • Create and optimize complex Alteryx and SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models for efficient transformation
  • Lead the implementation of QuickSight dashboards and end-to-end analytics solutions
  • Architect and optimize database performance and query efficiency across enterprise systems
  • Develop comprehensive data validation, testing frameworks, and security measures
  • Create technical documentation and mentor team members on data engineering best practices
  • Evaluate and implement new data technologies while driving adoption of modern engineering practices
  • Identify and execute opportunities for process automation and optimization
  • Contribute to data strategy development and maintain alignment with industry best practices

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering), or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as business analyst, data analyst, business intelligence or similar role
  • Experience in Financial and Accounting Operations, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supplier Data Management, Capital Projects, Assets, etc.
  • 5+ years of Advanced skills in Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
  • 3+ years of Advanced skills in Alteryx, SQL, ETL tools and data management and visualization tools (Andes, Quicksight, Redshift, Power BI, Smartsheet)
  • Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translating the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
The wage range for this position is $100,244.00-$170,415.00 Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
