Principal Product Manager- ECommerce Operations

Job Description

The Supply Chain and Under the Roof Product Team is looking for a driven Principal Product Manager to lead the product roadmap in our eCommerce Operations domain at Whole Foods Market. This role will be laser-focused on innovating and simplifying the Team Member experience in this space, supporting their success and in turn delivering a better customer experience. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the charge across tech, UX, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver meaningful business capabilities and outcomes.This role provide technological, business and strategic guidance and leadership for a number of WFM’s Under the Roof Team Member tech tools. This role will be responsible for the coaching, mentoring and professional development of Team Members. This will also Identify opportunities for enhancing technology capabilities to support and achieve overall business objectives. Also, successfully collaborate with various levels of the organization. This team member will develop and oversee the execution of long-term strategies to maximize systems, applications and infrastructure quality and efficiency. Also prioritize initiatives and projects based on their impact to the organization, resource requirements and cost restraints. This role will be viewed as a change agent and champion of WFM’s vision, mission and values. Keeps current with technical and industry advances.This role is based in Austin, Texas, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.

You will:

  • Lead the build-out of new applications.
  • Own the translation of business intent, customer needs, and/or technical direction into clear, concise, well-documented business requirements or product backlog for one or more complex applications (or a product family) spanning one or more technical domains.
  • Bridge conversations between business users and development teams using knowledge of complex business processes and technical integration spanning one or more business domains.
  • Develop longer-term (12 months or more) product roadmap, ensuring product development plans align with and support stakeholder business and application objectives.
  • Identify, describes, and continually evaluates end user personas, target users and/or user journeys and aligns solution delivery to their business and quality needs.
  • Partner with business to develop business case for new or existing solutions with supporting documentation, gain stakeholder support and approval, and acquire necessary resources.
  • Monitor industry trends, stakeholder satisfaction, usage trends, and related metrics to identify product / process improvement opportunities.
  • Influence strategic thinking across the organization, ensuring cross-functional and cross-product collaboration and integration.
  • Design, segment, and recruit for user testing, A/B testing, interviews, and user surveys and synthesize outputs to create actionable insights and drive product improvements.

What you will bring:

  • Advanced knowledge of software engineering practices; advanced experience with developing software products and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of complex technical and integration architecture patterns.
  • Advanced knowledge of application deployment and support processes and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of requirements or backlog management software.
  • Advanced knowledge of product analytics tools, tagging approaches, and accurately interpreting metrics.
  • Experience developing, publishing, and achieving product roadmaps.
  • Knowledge of designing, segmenting, and recruiting for user testing, A/B testing, interviews, and user surveys and supporting tools and synthesizing outputs to create actionable insights.
  • Able to effectively present technical information and tell impactful user stories and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.
  • Able to play a key and influential role working with others, in groups, in cross-functional settings and with diverse stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Able to integrate customer, partner and technical /utilization feedback and performance metrics into product design, development and application.
  • Strong writing skills.

  

Experience:

•         Experience leading product management work in enterprise, retail/grocery, or consumer-facing applications.

•         Demonstrated experience in scaling and operating products with large user bases.

•         Proven ability to build strong partnerships with UX, engineering, analytics, and business teams.

•         A track record of leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

•         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization.

•         BA/BS degree and 6-8 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant product management experience.

•         2-4 years leadership experience

•         MBA preferred
