You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to bring our evolving strategies to life — from space planning and assortment optimization to data-driven decisions that support customer engagement and financial growth. This role blends creativity, leadership, and purpose to ensure every product story is told with intention and impact.This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to Merchandising Presentation leaders and teams.
  • Ensures all processes are adopted and Team Member workload is managed to ensure timely and effective task completion.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, develops, and counsels Team Members in a manner that builds and sustains high performance and minimizes turnover.
  • Makes hiring and termination decisions with guidance of leadership.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive work environment.
  • Works with business partners to ensure necessary systems and tools are developed and delivered to enable timely and accurate space planning, planograms, reporting, and analysis.
  • Oversees the structuring of maximum efficiency for planogram maintenance and merchandising refresh programs.
  • Oversees development, enhancement, and management of procedures, processes, and tools for space planning and planogramming.
  • Oversees the coordination and management of catalogs, data development, data cleansing, and the product library.
  • Engages with global and regional purchasing leaders to ensure planogram development, scheduling, distribution, and implementation meets business needs.
  • Drives functional strategy development, priority setting, budget planning, and resource allocation.

  • Ensures alignment between Space Planning and the organization’s overall vision, values, mission, and business strategies.
  • Ensures team services adapt and change as the business evolves.
  • Consults with the business leaders on functional and operational processes, challenges, and related issues and trends – and on the project plans designed to improve facility functionality and use.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor from a Merchandising Presentation perspective.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable steps at the local and regional levels.
  • Identifies the risks and threats in current and emerging operational strategies and outcomes.
  • Understands how risks and threats may impact operational effectiveness, resources, and costs.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure the implications inherent in Space Planning operations, projects, and activities are understood and form the basis for sound decision-making.
  • Leads detailed task / project planning, including cost / budget, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Ensures planning incorporates data and information from the perspective of the customer, supplier, partner, and company.
  • Collaborates with the task / project stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and resolve emerging and anticipated issues.
  • Leverages data-driven insights to recommend, implement and continuously improve task / project management and delivery methodology.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of WFM’s core business and customer / market / partner interfaces.
  • Assesses how the products, processes, and operating models impact the company’s business and financial performance.
  • Understands how changes in the customers’ expectations, the competition, new business, new markets, and evolving strategies impact the company’s competitive position and long-term prospects.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years’ leadership experience.
