Senior Team Leader, Supplier Marketing & Advertising

Job Description

The Supplier Marketing & Advertising team is responsible for helping suppliers thrive at Whole Foods Market—elevating their brands through paid marketing, advertising, and in-store demos and roadshows—while driving product discovery and awareness of new products and promotions for our customers. The Senior Team Leader of Supplier Marketing & Advertising oversees supplier engagement for our Marketing & Advertising programs and management of our WFM-owned Marketing programs to ensure we are delivering on company goals and program revenue targets. This role partners extensively with suppliers and key stakeholder teams, including Category Merchandising, Marketing Analytics, Category Marketing, Promo Marketing, E-Commerce, Consumer Insights, Product Management, as well as Amazon Advertising teams. This role reports to the Executive Leader, Supplier Marketing & Advertising. We are seeking a strategic, critical thinker with strong business acumen and communication skills who obsesses over customers, earns trust with stakeholders, dives deep into business metrics and processes, and consistently delivers results. This position is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the downtown office five days a week.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a team responsible for engaging suppliers in strategizing omnichannel marketing planning, managing WFM-owned Marketing programs, and leading supplier- and merchant-facing go-to-market initiatives 

  • Responsible for partnering with key stakeholders to drive growth in Supplier Marketing & Advertising revenue and achieve annual program targets. 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four direct reports, setting goals, guiding prioritization, and ensuring execution excellence.  

  • Collaborate with marketing, merchant, and operational leaders to develop strategies and priorities that shape Supplier Marketing programs, in support of broader company messaging, promotional, and strategic marketing objectives. 

  • Forge strong relationships with Whole Foods Market suppliers and serve as the key marketing partner in Joint Business Planning and supplier negotiations.  

  • Recommend strategic, business, or marketing adjustments based on program effectiveness, customer insights, and emerging trends. 

  • Oversee program and project planning, including cross-functional team engagement, financial forecasting, milestone development, and performance reporting. 

  • Lead internal and external trainings on Supplier Marketing programs, including presenting in one-to-many settings.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and inspire cross-functional teams across diverse stakeholder groups. 

  • Strong track record of delivering business results through high-impact, revenue-driving programs. 

  • Excellent executive presence and interpersonal communication skills, with a high level of tact, diplomacy, and discretion.  

  • Strong analytical skills with a knack for interpreting trends/data to make informed projections and craft actionable, creative, and data-driven strategies. 

  • Skilled in communicating clearly and concisely in written formats. 

  • Effective presenter and facilitator in both one-on-one and group settings.  

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of WFM’s business and the broader food-retail landscape, and anticipates how shifts in customer expectations, competitive dynamics, and emerging strategies impact our long-term positioning. 

 

Education & Experience: 

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience  

  • 2-4 years of leadership experience. 

The wage range for this position is $111,819.00-$190,092.00 Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
