Generalist & Business Partner
Senior Team Leader, TMS Business Partner

Provides leadership and oversight to the Business Partner team. Ensures effective partnering with teams and organizational leaders to develop people and related organizational strategies that integrate with and support business strategies, goals, and objectives. Oversees the provision of coaching and advice to leaders in support of building effective teams and addressing Team Member relations matters. Consults with company leaders on areas including organizational design, talent development, workforce planning, talent acquisition, rewards, training, leadership development, and performance management. Serves as the client face of TMS, liaising with other TMS functions, including Recruiting, Talent Management. Learning & Development, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, and Shared Services Operations to ensure effective and integrated support. Ensures compliance with corporate policies and with government regulations and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Oversees the work of Team Members and Team Leaders.
- Accountable for day-to-day and longer-term operations.
- Oversees implementation of strategically focused and integrated TMS initiatives.
- Monitors TMS / Human Resources functions, processes, and initiatives across industry to identify advances and trends that may benefit the company.
- Engages with TMS colleagues to ensure programs, initiatives, and processes are well-integrated, effectively communicated, and applied in a manner that supports client needs and business objectives.
- Leads and implements TMS measurement and evaluation strategies, tactics, reporting, and analysis at the client level.
- Negotiates and manages services and costs with external providers and consulting companies.
- Monitors Business Partner outcomes and metrics and drives process improvement for TMS operations.
- Accountable for mentoring and developing Generalists and Business Partners.
- Partners with legal and supports Team Member investigations.
- Ensures the effectiveness of ongoing efforts to monitor and address issues associated with regulatory and corporate compliance.
- Models open and honest communication, fosters a collaborative culture, and ensures hearing and respect for diverse opinions and views.
- Promotes diversity and inclusion across the organization.
- Champions ethical practices and confidentiality across the organization.
Skills:
- Possesses in-depth and practical knowledge of TMS’ programs and processes, including Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning & Development, and HRIS.
- Possesses clear and practical knowledge of retail food industry’s Human Resources objectives, challenges, and requirements.
- Manages risk, opportunities, and gaps in Business Partner’s strategies, programs, and processes.
- Strong technical, leadership, and team building skills with the ability to balance tactical and strategic responsibilities.
- Consults with business leaders on Human Resources and related issues, trends, and challenges.
- Serves as a trusted advisor from a TMS / Business Partner perspective.
- Engages with business leaders to identify gaps in understanding, formulate resolution strategies, and deliver clear and compelling communication.
- Able to translate strategic objectives into clear, tangible actions at the local and regional level.
- Able to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the implications inherent in Business Partner and TMS’s program / process outcomes and analyses are understood and form the basis for sound leadership decision-making.
- Leads detailed task / project planning, including cost, schedule and resource requirements.
- Ensures planning incorporates data and information from customer, supplier, partner and company perspectives.
- Collaborates with task / project stakeholders to identify, evaluate and resolve emerging and anticipated issues.
- Leverages data-driven insights to recommend, implement and continuously improve task / project management and delivery methodology.
- Demonstrates clear understanding of WFM’s core business and customer / market / partner interfaces.
- Assesses how changes to people and organizational management practices impact the company’s competitive position.
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree and 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 2-4 years’ leadership experience.
