Shipping & Receiving Team Leader, Bakehouse

Job Description

The Team Leader reports to the Associate Facility Team Leader. This person provides overall management and supervision of the team. This person is also responsible for profitability, expense control, ordering, shipping, regulatory compliance and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, select, train, develop and counsel Team Members in a manner which builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turn over.
  • Provide timely, thorough and thoughtful performance evaluations
  •  Thorough knowledge of Globalbake, creating Purchase orders, updating costs when receiving orders into the system, use of supplier portals for placing orders, use of COUPA to order supplies
  • Maintain and accurate GL of expenses and reconcile at month end, accrue any invoices not physically received with our global accounting partner
  • Work collaboratively with Team Member Services on team member relations
  • Supervise, coach and mentor receivers, drivers, and buyers on your team
  • Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards.
  • Achieve budgeted expense levels.
  • Assist with physical inventory process; ensure accuracy at all levels of the process.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationship with Regional Leadership,  Facility Leadership, Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Provide accurate, complete information in daily, weekly, monthly, annual and "ad hoc" management reports.
  • Model and cultivate effective inter-facility communication.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including: OSHA, FMLA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities                                                                                        

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel, EXE, and PeopleSoft
  • Work with all teams on ordering of ingrediens, maintaining adequate par levels, forecasting ingredient and packaging usage during peak holiday season    
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Passion for all WFM policies and procedures and thorough product knowledge
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service
  • Phenomenal time management skills
  • High attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computers and systems
  • Proper use of knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six wheel carts, baler and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and store.
  • Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required

Desired Work Experiences

  • Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader or supervisor (2 years)
